Rick's Family's Visit to St. George

Rick, Jodie and family saw some real drama on their way to St. George on June 27. A raging wildfire was near New Harmony, which is just normally about forty minutes north of St. George. Jodie took some video, and I can't believe how close it was to the freeway. It took them another hour and a half, because they got diverted to a side road, but they arrived just in time to eat the grilled salmon dinner we had prepared. Then Dad got the Blakey sitter and we were off to Tuacahn to see, Aladdin. (Rick was there too, just not in the iPhone pic).
You could see Disney's hand in this production and it was just darling!
Next morning, we never have seen kids so excited to hit the lake to water ski! Well, actually, the most excited one of all was Jodie!
They made Dad be first up, and he was happy to oblige!
He's still got it!
I hate to tell you guys, but he still holds the title for best water skier ever!
How about this for a 67 (soon to be 68) year old!
Next up, Jodie.
She's not too bad, either!
The kids all love being on the boat!
Rick was up next. The water was still glass, and he's got great form!
Blakey didn't complain once the whole two days of boating.
If you're a Stratford, you've gotta love it!
Swimming with best buddy, Dad
Josh got up on a slalom ski for the first time. He looked awesome!
I don't have a pic of Sadie slalom skiing, but she got up her first try!
Katie looked good out there!
And Abby stayed up longer than she ever has!

After we had our lunch on the water on Friday, the kids couldn't wait to get out on the tube. They loved how warm the water was and didn't want to ever get out!
Blake seemed to love it more and more in the two days on the lake!
Three water dogs!
After being out on the lake since 8:30 AM on Friday, we got home around 3:30, and the kids still hadn't had enough. Dad and I took them over to the Rec Center to swim. I got in a few water aerobics.
The girls were lovin' their new goggles.
Dad and I realized that we didn't have a pic of the two of us swimming together since Blacker's pool, so, so long ago! So Sadie took our pic.
Friday night we had Smashburgers before we went to see, Hairspray at Tuacahn. Josh just got home from Europe the day before they came, and the food he missed most was hamburgers!
Hairspray was very entertaining; the singing and dancing were outstanding.
Roger, Rick and Josh played nine holes of golf on Saturday morning, then they all left after lunch.
They crammed a lot of fun into their visit and
we love for them to come!
