Celebrating Our 45th Wedding Anniversary, 2012

Ever since we have lived in St. George, we have liked to go stay over in Las Vegas for a night, have a great dinner and maybe see a show for our anniversary.

Roger and I LOVE seafood! When I googled looking for a great seafood restaurant, Maestro's Ocean Club had lots of stars from other diners and it was nearby Mandalay Bay, where we stayed, so we made a reservation.

This pic is getting ahead of the story, but I wanted to show the interior and us together next.  As you can see, they brought this INCREDIBLE pice of chocolate cake as a surprise anniversary treat at the conclusion of or meal!

We started our meal with this delicious salad - so good.

Lobster mashed potatoes.  Are you kidding?
Yum!

We shared a wonderful piece of fish, a fillet of Arctic char "Oreganata."

As we do each year, We walked/drove from hotel to hotel, enjoying the lavish holiday decorations.

The Jean Philippe chocolate display window in the Aria is always amazing - all out of chocolate!

There are gorgeous, elaborate cakes on display inside.

The Bellagio Atrium is always spectacular!

And the Palazzo is always sparkly elegance!

I don't have a pic, but we saw, The Rat Pack, a Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Joey Bishop and Sammy Davis, Jr. impersonator show.  The music was great, it had a live orchestra and Frank was spot on, but the other impersonators, though talented - well, we remember these stars well and they weren't quite it.

We had a delicious brunch on the patio of the Mon Ami Gabi in the Paris next day.
If you wonder why I have on the same outfit two days in a row, it's because I forgot the top to the other one I brought.
Roger just said, "Why bring two?" Oh well, we were comfy!

Another anniversary surprise - a yummy profiterole

We drove to Primm for some shopping, then headed home.

I kinda like this anniversary tradition - hope we have many more anniversaries together and many more Las Vegas Get-aways!

  3. I want to eat all of that. Especially those lobster mashed potatoes. Yum!!! I love that you guys have this tradition! I remember growing up you guys never did much to celebrate your anniversary because it's in December and that's always a crazy month with kids and everything, so it makes me happy that since moving to St. George you've started doing this to celebrate. So much fun and very deserved of such a beautiful, strong and loving marriage! You are such an example to me of what a marriage should be. Love you guys!!! Happy 45 years!!!!!!!!
