2012 Lyman Gabrielsen, Jr., Family Reunion in St. George

Ryan, Emily and family (minus Pete, he had to stay at camp to complete the last day) drove from Boy Scout Camp in the mountains of Arizona to get there in time for dinner. Ryan was the camp doctor, so their whole family had been camping out for a week there. Our other kids and families were already there except Stacy, Tom and kids, who arrived after 11 PM, after getting caught in a huge traffic jam in Las Vegas.  It was big time car races that night, and the freeway was clogged.
We greeted Patty, Hal, Evan and family and Tricia's little Preston; Joan, Tom and Whitney; Ami, Hansen and kids and Kay, Ken, Shonna, Blake and kids.

There were lots of hugs and smiles, and we all looked forward to the golf, picnic, swimming and games the next day!
We don't have any pics of the golf, but two foursomes and one threesome met at the Sunbrook Golf Course at 6:50 Saturday morning.
Ken Hinton won The Duck in the senior division and Tom Young won The Swedish Boy in the Junior Division.
Around 12:30, our picnic buffet began.  Sub sandwiches, Kay's famous potato salad, Joan's famous baked beans, my sweet pasta salad, watermelon, cantaloupe, red and green grapes, fresh pineapple, cherries, raspberries, fruit dip and lots of chips were spread out on tables.
Come and get it!
Roger set up the sunrise punch and the ice water.
 Time for dessert!  Krispy Kremes!
We got lots of help loading up the doughnut holders!
Now comes the hard part!  Which kind will I pick?

We decided our family dynamic has changed drastically with all of the little ones now for Grandmas and Grandpas to help watch - no more casual chats for the adults, but wasn't it fun watching our grandkids have a good time? So great to see them getting acquainted and hitting it off together!

I hope the Gabrielsen Reunion continues for many, many years!
Grandma and Grandpa Gabe must have been grinning watching all of us on this hot, sunny, happy day in St. George!

  1. It was a great reunion - you both did a super job with everything! The food was delicious! I love all of the wonderful pictures - Roger is a pro! The games for the kids look so fun! It is good that the second cousins had a chance to get acquainted!
