Roger and I drove up north on June 1st with a full
agenda.
The most important item on that agenda was to go to
our granddaughter, Abby's, baptism,
which was the next day!
Her mom, Jodie, who has become an amazing
photographer, took some gorgeous shots of Abby in
her baptism dress a few days before her baptism.
We took pics in Rick and Jodie's gorgeous backyard
before we went over to the baptism.
Abby with her Grandpa Bart, Grandma Sugar,
Grandpa Roger and Grandma Pam
We are so proud of our precious Abby!
She was tickled that Grandma Strat came!
The priesthood holders in the circle at the baptism -
a handsome group!
Abby was so happy to be baptized
by her brother, Josh.
The proud parents
with their brand new member of the Church
After the baptism, Jodie prepared a lovely buffet for all
of us; her brother, Chris, and family, her mom and
dad, Grandma Strat, Aunt Chryrrl,
and some special friends came.
On Sunday after church, we drove to Ogden to visit
Grandma Strat and to go with her to visit Roger's
Dad's and his brother,Gordie's, graves.
It was a week after Memorial Day, but the flowers
were still pretty.
It's kind of a yearly ritual that we like to do with
Grandma; it somehow makes us feel good inside.
We returned for a wonderful birthday dinner for Rick -
marinated flank steak cooked on the grill,
roasted veggies,
corn on the cob, Jodie's homemade rolls, fruit and her
famous fruit dip and Baskin Robbins pralines and
cream pie for dessert.
That pie was introduced to us by Jodie when she was
dating Rick.
She brought one to him for his birthday, and it's been
a tradition ever since. Yum!
The fun up north has just begun . . . stay tuned!
Congratulations to Abbie. I guess I'll need that cream pie recipe.
