Summertime

Summer for us isn't only about being with our kids and grandkids,
though it's probably our favorite part of it.
Kathy and I are in a little book club with most of our members being snowbirds from up north.
So we're disbanded for the summer,
but we got together recently at George's to have lunch and discuss our latest book.

Roger plays golf at Sunbrook almost every Monday morning with a fun foursome.

Every month or so we head to Las Vegas to shop and enjoy a special lunch,
trying the top-rated restaurants that are open for lunch, when they cost less $s.
Last weekend there were great 4th of July sales and we needed some wedding gifts, etc,
so we spent a big day in Vegas.
This place is as good as advertised.

I ordered the lobster salad, and I think Roger's pic of it speaks for itself.

Roger ordered the ribeye steak sandwich with homemade potato chips,
and I'm still hearing about the delicious steak and the divine chips!
This may not be our only time to eat lunch at The Capital Grill.

Okay, so this is probably the only time that this has ever happened in our marriage.
When the server was trying to entice us to have dessert,
she described their famous coconut cream pie
with the macaroon cookie crust, signature cookie and caramel sauce.
As I began to explain how we were too full, Roger said,
"Bring us a piece, and bring two forks!"
I didn't argue.

Happy Fourth of July!

At 6:45 AM on the 4th, Roger and our friend, Jim Jensen, teed off for a great 18 holes at Sunbrook.
Then Kathy and Jim invited us over for a delicious grilled salmon and rice in a packet dinner.
She made the most delicious salad, we had some watermelon
and then we enjoyed Nielsen's chocolate custard for dessert.
We love these guys!

Summertime in the dessert isn't so bad . . .
as long as you stay in the A C!
