August - Still HOT!

Well, I spent lots of indoor in the AC time this month, too, and we scanned more pics from our past for our personal history book. It's been so fun to relive some of our travels when we were younger and I wasn't plagued with bad knees and I was full of energy!

Now back to life in St. George in 2026!

Roger continued to get in lots of golf. Here are Dave, Karl, David Z. and Roger at Copper Rock Golf Course in Hurricane, Ut.

Our Gamer Group met at Van Noy's beautiful home, ate food we brought of favorite recipes from childhood and early marriage, and rolled the dice. We laughed and teased a lot! I brought Mom's famous  ham loaf.

Judy made a delicious carrot cake to celebrate Wendy's birthday, who couldn't come last minute, so an early birthday cake for Roger? He ate 3 pieces!

On August 27, Roger's pickle ball friends began the celebrating for Roger's birthday with these 2 memes:

We celebrated with lunch at Longhorn and he enjoyed his phone calls from his sibling and our kids throughout the day and night. A massive, widespread power outage for about 5 hours happened just before dinner time, so he grilled delicious cheese quesadillas on our outdoor grill. We'll remember that one for next time it happens!

Our dear friends, Nancy and Loran, invited us to celebrate Loran's birthday with them at Positano's, a new Italian restaurant in St. George. They were USU Aggies in Logan when we were!

The food is well-prepared and it's a cut above Olive Garden for chain Italian food. The portions are smaller.

So, that's the story for our August, which also included lots of church service, Roger's sports and me, cooking new and favorite recipes that include lots of protein and fresh veggies and sharing food with friends and neighbors, widows and widowers. Trying to get leaner and healthier is high on my agenda, so I'll be around longer to enjoy our Grands and Greats!
