Roger's Mini-55th WHS Reunion

The Weber High School Class of '62 had a mini-55th Reunion August 12.
The closeness that these class members feel for each other is exceptional.
Many get together often.
Roger and I both love many of the members of his class, so,
of course we wanted to be at this latest gathering,
so we traveled up north and stayed with Lois on the 10th.
Next day, our nephew dentist, Sam, repaired Roger's popped-off crown and Jessica cut and fixed my hair.
That night Grandma, feeling a little better after having tweaked her back earlier in the week,
treated Susie, Craig and us to dinner at Pizzaria, her favorite pizza place.
It's always so fun to be with Grandma and it was great to catch up with Susie and Craig.

The reunion was Saturday evening, so on Saturday morning, Roger, Lois and I drove to Brigham City for peaches
and we had a yummy lunch at Maddox.
Late afternoon, we drove up above Huntsville to the reunion.
John Rees, a member of the class, volunteered his lovely home/estate for the location and he also volunteered to provide most of the dinner. So it was casual and free. He wanted everyone who could possibly come to be there.
He helped plan and build everything in his spectacular estate,
including digging out the ground to make these beautiful ponds and waterways.

Reminiscing, catching up and laughter was non-stop.

The friends who I have made through the years in Roger's class make me feel so loved and welcome.
In fact, one of them said, as we were chatting away, "I forget that you weren't in our class with us!"
Made me feel good. I love to be with them.

The party broke up after the sun went down.
Roger got to see three or four classmates he had not seen since he graduated
and most of the Lake Powell Houseboat Cronies were there.
So fun!

On Sunday, because Lois couldn't sit with her sore back for her ward's three-hour block,
Roger and I attended our old Forest Green Ward for the second time since we moved 13 years ago.
What a joy to see many of our old neighbors and friends!
We need to do it more often!
We had lunch with Lois, then headed to Rick and Jodie's, chatted with them for over an hour
and gave Sadie a last hug before she would be leaving for the MTC,
then headed for Alpine to pick up something from Mindy and Jeff.
They had been moving into their new home all weekend and have much work ahead of them,
but they are so excited!
It was another event-packed weekend with friends and family up north!

  2. Roger looks so young with his classmates! Reunions can be hard on spouses, but you are so warm and friendly that you meet people and they become instant friends - what an awesome quality!!

  3. What a beautiful home and setting for the reunion. That is so nice of John Rees to offer his home for the venue. Dad is so young looking and looks so handsome! The memorial of the class members who have passed on since the last reunion is such a nice idea...made me sad to think there are so many. You and Dad never age in my eyes! I'm so glad you know so many of his classmates and they make you feel like you are part of their original class. I'm glad you were able to stay with Grandma and attend the old Forrest Green Ward and visit Rick, Jodie and Sadie before she left of the MTC and Mindy and Jeff too!
