HAPPY 49th ANNIVERSARY, Vegas-style!

I think it's officially a tradition!
Ever since we moved to St. George, Roger and I have celebrated our December 14 wedding anniversary
with a little overnight getaway to Las Vegas.
This year, we got to spend two nights at the Delano, the newest tower of Mandalay Bay.

We were tickled with our modern room . . .

. . . and attached living room.

We ate the night we arrived on the top of the Delano in this wonderful restaurant
which featured French and Italian coastal cuisine.

We feasted on their pris fixe offering, trying several food items we had never had before.
That is the limoncello baba in the first pic of the post.

Rog took some great shots out of the huge windows - what a great view!

After dinner we took the tram over to the Bellagio - a must do every year
to see their beautifully decorated terrarium.
But first stop is always to view the Dale Chihuly glass flower ceiling in the lobby.
I LOVE it!

Rog took a panorama of the Christmas fantasyland in the terrarium.
There are thousands of flowers used.

Next, we headed to the Jean Philippe chocolate shop in Aria.

Next morning, we went to the outlets to do some Christmas shopping,
then ate lunch at Stripburger just outside the Fashion Show Mall.
We got great seats to see this Jersey Boy-style family music show at Bally's.
There is just one showing every night at 5:30.

They were so very talented and engaging - a father and two sons who could sing, play instruments and dance.
We loved their music and it took us down Memory Lane!
We were seated at a table up front, and we even ordered a Roy Rogers
(Roger had to explain to the waitress what it was - coke and grenadine) and a Shirley Temple.
She loaded the drinks with maraschino cherries, I'm sure thinking we were kind of
old-looking little kids. It was just like the old days!

After the show, we had dinner at our favorite, Mon Ami Gabi.
We always love their food . . .

French onion soup

. . . and they always bring a complimentary chocolate profiterole when we're celebrating a special occasion.

I consider being married to this kind and wonderful guy for almost 50 years
to be my greatest blessing in life.
I am so grateful that we could celebrate it in such a fun way in Las Vegas!
