Our Miss Adelaide Lind, our youngest daughter, Mindy, and Jeff's daughter, was born for the stage!
I know I'm her grandma, but she can act, she can dance, and, oh, can she sing! She played Annie in ACT's (Alpine Community Theater's) production of Annie! last summer. When they were auditioning for Cinderella, she did not want to be Cinderella, but what she thought would be a much more fun part to play, mean step-sister, Portia. So that is who she auditioned for and got it. Fun coincidence, my sister, Patty, played that very part in a 9th grade production and the other step-sister, Joy, was played by Patty's best friend, Lois. They had a ball, no pun intended, and she has talked about it for years!
We couldn't miss seeing Addie, so we headed north. She lit up the stage with her cute acting and antics!
Here are a few pics of some of the scenes:
We are proud of this cute granddaughter!
The production was during a high alert of Covid, so we wore our N95 masks. The auditorium was packed with parents and kids.
Roger and I celebrated my 77th Birthday/Valentine's Day by spending the day in Las Vegas, arriving at lunchtime and enjoying a whitefish salad onion bagel and their famous cabbage soup here. These must be the yummiest bagels anywhere!
We shopped all afternoon and Roger helped me pick out some fun clothes (he usually just lets me go at it while he heads to the Apple Store or the nearest chair, but this time he went around the stores, picking out things he thought would look good on me. Never happened before and kinda fun!)
We had reservations at a restaurant off the Strip, Todd's, which we have eaten at a couple of times before. A good chef had recommended it to us, and they have a Pris Fixe menu on Valentine's Day. I picked the fish, mahi mahi with shitake mushrooms and Roger had a steak.
Was a fun day and we drove home after to open cards and gifts.
Great Birthday!
