Special Times

Recently, Roger and I attended a very special event in St. George.
It was a regional Special Needs Road Show.
It was reminiscent of the mutual road shows of the past, and the kids were whole-heartedly into it!
Each stake picked a theme and presented lively music, dancing and acting with cute costuming and clever sets.

The audience cheered loudly and enthusiastically for these special people, participants and the leaders.
For the Grand Finale, all of the participants got on stage and sang and signed, "In This Very Room."
Loved it! So glad we went.

Every year, St. George has a wonderful Sear's Invitational Art Show
where chosen artists display, compete and sell their works.
I got to be on the organizing committee for three years, and so much work goes in to making it a success.
The Sear's Art Museum Gallery recently received from an anonymous donor
a casting of Michelangelo's Pieta. It is one of only fourteen distributed worldwide.

We were pleased to see two of Roger's cousin, Travis Crowther's, paintings in the show.

This one of Travis's reminds me of one of Dad's paintings.

Last Friday, we spent a wonderful evening with our dear Aggie friends,
Jay and Anne and Bob and Mary at Brady's.
They will be leaving in April to serve another mission, this time in Nairobi Kenya, for a year.
We plan to get together one more time before they leave.
Mary made delicious lasagna and Anne made a yummy tossed salad with strawberries and sugared nuts.

I made a lemon meringue pie, which I haven't made for years.
When we were last at Ryan and Emily's in Mesa,
we picked lots of lemons off their trees, so I have had fun thinking of ways to use them.

Roger took a pic after he had a bite to make sure it was good!

I have thrown in this pic of a lemon loaf I made to use up some plain yogurt and some of those great lemons.

We had so much fun playing Five Crowns. It's great to have friends with whom you can just pick up
where you left off last time you were together, teasing and laughing together.
We love these guys!
Special times, indeed!
