Great-Grandbaby Charlie in Mesa

Being Grandma Pam and Grandpa Roger to 25 "great" grandkids is unspeakably great!
Being Great-Grandma Pam and Great-Grandpa Roger to first great-grandchild, Charlie, is . . .
well, you can probably guess!
That's a lot of greats, and yes, it is!
Great, that is!
Roger and I drove to Mesa on January 8 to meet Charlie.

Charlie taking a tubbie - he loves them!

Hello, Mr. Charlie!

Charlie loves to jump!

Is there anything more precious than a sleeping baby?

Charlie's mom, Sydney, Stacy and I (and Charlie) had fun shopping and having lunch in Scottsdale
while Roger and Tom went golfing.

The weather was in the glorious high sixties (my favorite!) while we were there
and we walked/ran in the mornings,
then played with Charlie and the Young twins,
Maddy and Londyn when they came home from school.
We had lots of great chats -
we love these guys so!
Of course, we had great food during our visit and we went to see a fun movie.

We ate at a wonderful Thai restaurant (mango red curry - yum!) Friday night.
Tom made us delicious waffles Saturday morning and Saturday night we ate at the high school fav,
Cane's, and had chicken fingers.

Roger and I went with Tom and Stacy to see a Phoenix Sun's basketball game.
The Suns are in last place in their division
and they  played the #1 in the Western Conference, the Denver Nuggets.
The Suns led the entire game and beat them 102-93!
It was so fun to go to a pro-basketball game again. When we lived in Ogden,
we loved going to the Jazz games once in a while.

Sunday, church started at noon. Tom and Stacy made a yummy breakfast and I got to feed Charlie.

We all got turns feeding this cute little guy. Tom loves being a grandpa!

They squeezed fresh orange juice from their orange trees and Roger was in heaven! He picked lots of oranges, grapefruit, Meyer and regular lemons and pomelos to take home with us.

Stacy invited Ryan, Emily and kids and Synda and girls (Brad was out of town on business)
over for dinner Sunday evening.
Tom grilled fresh salmon, Roger and I made wedge salads, asparagus and baked carrots
and Stacy made homemade bread and mashed potatoes. Synda brought Caprice appetizers on little sticks
and her guacamole and chips and Emily brought dessert, brownies and a Bundt chocolate cake
with candles and ice cream to celebrate Ben's birthday.
Everything was so delicious!

Ben the birthday boy - 15 years old!

Before we left for home on Monday, Stacy treated us to lunch at ours and Syd's favorite, Flancers
French onion soup and prickly pear marinated chicken sandwiches - yum!

We are so tickled that we got to spend such fun times with these guys,
and the highlight was to play with Charlie.
Syd is staying with her mom and dad while her husband, Jake, is finishing up his work in Hong Kong,
then they are moving to Maryland, where Jake has a new corporate job with Marriott.
Stacy and Tom tell people that their daughter is moving lots closer to them now,
and it is clear across the country!
It's all where you're lookin' from, right?
We're so glad we took the opportunity to have a great time with our cute new great-grandson,
his beautiful mom and the loving Youngs!
